Restorative practices is known for its effectiveness in building and repairing relationships in families, schools, and communities. Related practices can help us understand how even large groups of people can be engaged in participatory learning and decision making and conflict resolution.
The webinar, recorded on October 10, 2023, features Ted Wachtel, Founder of IIRP (International Institute for Restorative Practices) and BANR (Building a New Reality), who has written extensively on restorative practices and “True Representation”; Brett Hennig, whose UK-based Sortition Foundation advocates for replacing the UK’s House of Lords with a House of Citizens selected by democratic lottery instead of elections; and Anke Siegers and Gert Jan Slump who pioneered the use of Community Processing to resolve large-scale disputes in the Netherlands.
