In the concluding episode of this series, guests shared a radical education model that liberates students from compulsory education. BANR Communication Director Josh Wachtel talked about the program where his is a teacher and core staff member, North Star Self-Directed Learning for Teens. He was joined by colleagues Ellen Morbyrne, Core Staff Member, alum and parent of current North Star members, as well as director and cofounder, Ken Danford, who has also cofounded the Liberated Learners network of related programs. North Star utilizes a proactive restorative approach, and, as Ted argues, is fundamentally restorative by its non-compulsory nature.
